Every time I try and start my pc it says secure boot violation invalid signature and that I need to check secure boot policy set up. I can’t just turn off secure boot because I need it to run a game. How would I be able to fix this ?

Hi @Dukeboysinc,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about Secure boot violation issue, don’t worry let me help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

Could you please share the exact HP laptop or desktop model you’re using?

Also just to let you know the Secure Boot is a security feature built into modern PCs that ensures only trusted, signed software (like your operating system) can load during startup.
When you see “Invalid Signature”, it means the system detected something that doesn’t match the approved Secure Boot policy.

Few Steps You Can Try

  1. Check BIOS/UEFI Settings
    • Restart your PC and press Esc or F10 (depending on your model) to enter BIOS Setup.
    • Under Security or Boot Options, confirm that Secure Boot is enabled and Legacy Boot is disabled.
    • Save changes and restart.
  2. Update BIOS/UEFI
    • Outdated firmware can cause signature mismatches. Check HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/  for your model and install the latest BIOS update.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
