Hi, I just bought a new HP 15s fq-2012nm laptop, which has FreeDOS installed on it. I'm trying to boot my bootable Windows 10 USB drive but it doesn't appear in the Boot Menu. I've searched online and most solutions include disabling Security Boot and enabling Legacy Boot. I cannot change the Security Boot option (it's gray) in BIOS (although it's already disabled), and I don't have anywhere in my BIOS the Legacy option. If there's any information I might need to mention, please feel free to ask for it.

Hi:
It should have shown up under the list of EFI boot sources when you selected the F9 boot options menu.
The only suggestion I can offer, would be to make a UEFI bootable USB installer by using the free Rufus utility, and download the W10 ISO file using the media creation tool instead of letting the media creation tool make the bootable USB drive for you.
Rufus...in the menu, select the GPT partition scheme, and BIOS or UEFI
Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way
Media creation tool...
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
If your new notebook has an Intel 11th gen core processor, and you can get the USB flash drive to boot up using Rufus, you are not out of the woods yet...
There is a special process needed to install W10 on PC's with the new Intel 11th gen core processors...
See the info at the link below.
Here is the link to the driver you need...
This package contains the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Rapid Storage Technology is designed to provide functionality for the Intel Storage Controllers. The driver improves Serial ATA (SATA) disk performance with Native Command Queuing.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111501-112000/sp111776.exe
There is one thing wrong in that document, and that is where HP tells you to right click on the Intel driver file and select Extract to
When I ran through the steps, I don't get an Extract to option when I right click on the file.
So, if you have the same issue, download and install the free 7-zip file utility from the link below.
The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.
Then you can right click on the exe file, select 7-Zip from the menu, and select Extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp111776), and copy that folder to your USB flash drive, and continue with the instructions.
