Hi,
the following is probably off topic. If so, I apologize in advance: I have a Laptop, that came with FreeDOS. I have installed Windows 11, but I would like to have a dual boot system, with Fedora Linux on the shared SSD.
The following was done three times in a row:
1.) Installed Fedora Linux 41 in the remaining space on my hard drive.
2.) Finished the installation (updates boot configuration).
3.) Restarted the machine. Grub bootloader (installed in step 2) offers me the choice between Windows, and Fedora.
4.) Booting into Fedora works, and everything appears to be fine.
However, as soon as I boot into Fedora, the boot configuration becomes changed again: Upon reboot, the machine goes
straight into Windows, rather than offering me a choice.
I have installed a lot of machines as dual boot in the past, and never observed such a behaviour. Any explanations, or suggestions?
Thanks, very much,
Jochen

See this post on Fedora forum. This person was able to make Fedora the default OS by running the bcdedit command line in command prompt.
