Microsoft Windows 11

Started install.  At a reboot it said "preparing automatic repair" "diagnosing your pc".  It would not enter Win11, but kept rebooting with this error.  After several tries, I went to the recover screen and tried several options, lastly "Troubleshoot" and then I think "Diagnose".  At some point in there, not at my behest, it completely wiped my Win11 and forced a start over at the country, keyboard, etc requests.

Eventually I got through all that and when the system came back up, all my programs seem to be gone, but the data is all still there.  Everything related to windows has been erased along with the programs..  The toolbar has been reset.  If I had not been setting things up, I would be quite distraught, but I think all I need to to is reinstall all the programs and redo the setup things like mapping drives.

What happened?  What should I do?
