I just took my bran new Pavillion Plus out of the box, started it, went to the initial start up process... after a while it detected maintenance to be performed and software to upgrade, it proceeded from 0% to 100% then it seemed to go for a restart and... never turned on again... now start button led light blinks white, power plug is white but it does nothing...

Hi @Òscar1974,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Pavilion Plus laptop may be stuck after a firmware or software update. Here are some steps to try and resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove any external devices (USB drives, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter and try turning it on again.
2. Check for LED Indicators:
- The white LED on the power button and power plug indicates that the laptop is receiving power.
- If it still won't turn on, it may be stuck in a boot loop or post-update failure.
3. Reset the BIOS (Hard Reset):
- With the laptop powered off, press and hold Windows + B (or Windows + V) while also holding down the power button for 2-3 seconds.
- This should attempt to recover the BIOS settings and could resolve any issues caused by a failed update.
4. Disconnect Power and Try Battery Reset:
- If the laptop has a battery reset pinhole, you can use a paperclip to press the reset button. This is sometimes located on the bottom of the laptop.
5. Allow the Laptop to Cool:
- If the laptop was running for a long time during the update process, it might have overheated. Let it cool down for 15-20 minutes and then try turning it on again.
6. Check for Loose Connections:
- Make sure the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet. Try using a different power outlet if needed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
