Hi @Cletus120,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding laptop's admin password!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

You can try these methods to regain access:

Reset PIN (If Linked to a Microsoft Account)

  • On the lock screen, click "I forgot my PIN".
  • Enter the Microsoft account email associated with the laptop.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reset it.

Use the Local Administrator Account

  • Restart the laptop and press F8 repeatedly before the HP logo appears.
  • Choose Safe Mode and log in with the built-in Administrator account (if available).
  • From there, reset the PIN via Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.

Reset Password via Another Account

  • If there’s another admin account on the laptop, log in there and reset the password via:
Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage another account

Perform a Password Reset with a Bootable USB

If the above steps don’t work, you might need to create a Windows Password Reset Disk or reinstall Windows.

Let me know if you need step-by-step instructions for that! 😊
