I booted my computer as normal and received a CMOS Checksum Invalid 502 error. I followed the instructions on the HP website to press the Windows key and the V key with the start button but that didn't work (it didn't go into BIOS). I rebooted and pressed the Esc key repeatedly until it landed me at the startup menu where I pressed F10 to go into BIOS Setup but it just froze there.
When I plug in the power adapter, it gives me a light for a minute and then goes out. When I unplug the battery and plug in the charger, it does not start. The power adapter is putting out 19.7 VDC (which is correct according to the print on the adapter). I do not see a CMOS battery anywhere in the laptop.
I looked in the HP website for BIOS recovery but could only find the BIOS executable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
