Hello!

Recently replaced my laptop's battery, and since then, it sometimes only starts up when the charger is plugged in. Once started, I can unplug the charger, and everything works fine. But, if I restart immediately or wait a few hours (2 to 3), this issue doesn't occur. However, if I wait longer, like overnight, the problem reappears. Although there's no consistent pattern; sometimes, even after an overnight wait, the computer functions properly.

Each time this happens, I receive the error message: 'The CMOS checksum is invalid. The CMOS will be reset to default configuration and will reboot. Please check your BIOS setup options for changes. CMOS Reset (502).'

I've attempted to resolve this by updating the BIOS with the latest version from HP's site. However, the problem persists.

I suspect my computer doesn't have a separate CMOS battery and relies on the main battery for BIOS/CMOS power.

Best regards,
Diogo
