Hello everyone, hope you are all safe.
I have had this laptop since 2017 but the other day received the error that my battery was low (Storage capacity) and may need replacing Error (601)
As its on mains power for most of the time i thought i would simply remove the battery for now in order to stop the error each and every time that i powered on the PC.
I now have another error, that is that my BIOS is corrupt and that a copy will be replaced, press enter to reboot.
I then go in the BIOS and have to manually reset the time/date etc pressing F10 to save and exit.
However once powered down (removed from the charger) i receive the same error each time i power up.
My question is this.. does the main battery LK03XL (HP- 916814-855) contain both the main battery and that for the CMOS?
Or is there a seperate battery on the PCB for the CMOS.?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Is this a match...

I cannot see that there is a CMOS/RTC separate.

Thanks for the links, very useful.
This is the error that i receive each time that i power on the unit
Strange that it sometimes remember the date.. not sure whats keeping the data preserved, it used to be a CMOS battery, but pretty sure its eeprom / flash these days?
Ive only now got this error since removing the main battery... perhaps when i insert a new one it will be fine.
