Elitebook 8740w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Elitebook 8740w currently boots via BIOS Legacy. Can this be changed to UEFI, without having to reload the OS and without having to re-install all applications?

Put simply -- no. You would have to reformat the drive using GPT and then you would have to obtain Windows install media that will boot using UEFI and reinstall Windows from scratch -- losing everything in the process.

Lot of work to do for a new Windows that will not be released for months yet.
