I upgraded my ram on my 17-by4025nr from 16gb to 32gb. When I was done it wouldn't boot back up. Tried hard reset and that didn't work. Double checked the new ram and the only difference was the latency. The new ram is CL16 and the ram that I took out is CL22. Will that make a difference?

Hi:

Yes, on some notebooks you cannot install performance or gaming memory which has faster timing speeds than the standard memory your notebook comes with has.

That is because the BIOS cannot automatically adjust to the faster latency and you cannot make any changes to the memory XMP profile in the BIOS.

Best to stick with the standard memory with the standard latency, which for DDR4-3200 memory is CL22.

Suggested memory for your notebook.
