Hi @Hashh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop is showing "HP Sure Start Recovery" during boot, it means the system has detected a potential issue with the BIOS or firmware and is attempting to recover it automatically. This is a security feature designed to protect your system from firmware corruption or tampering.

1. Let HP Sure Start Complete

  • If the screen says something like “Recovering BIOS” or “Restoring BIOS from backup”, let the process finish.
  • Do not power off the laptop during this process.

2. If It Loops or Fails

If HP Sure Start keeps appearing or fails to recover:

  • Perform a Hard Reset:
    • Turn off the laptop.
    • Disconnect the charger and any peripherals.
    • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power and try booting again.

3. Try BIOS Recovery Manually

  • Press and hold Windows + B, then press the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release all keys and wait.
  • If supported, the system will attempt to recover the BIOS from a hidden partition.

4. Create a BIOS Recovery USB (if needed)

If the above doesn’t work:

  • On another PC, go to HP BIOS Recovery.
  • Download the latest BIOS for your model.
  • Use the HP tool to create a BIOS recovery USB drive.
  • Insert it into your affected laptop and boot with Windows + B again.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
