On a new Spectre x360, I am unable to save BIOS state with Legacy Boot mode, with Secure Boot disabled.
From the BIOS I set Legacy Boot (which Disables Secure boot), then I save settings and exit.
Then I go back into the BIOS and find that the Legacy boot has not been set and Secure Boot is still enabled.
If there is some trick to this I need to know what the procedure is in detail.
Note: I have tried this several times and very carefully.
Thanks for your help
P.S. This is the procedure I used:
While booting hold esc+F10, goes into BIOS
Go to System Configuration, Boot Options hit Enter
Select Legacy Support, hit Enter
Shows Disabled/Enabled, I select Enabled, hit Enter
Shows warning about may make the System unable to boot the OS. Select Yes, Hit Enter
Now the BIOS Display shows Legacy Support as Enabled, and Secure Boot as Disabled.
As it says at the bottom, I hit F10 for Save and Exit
It asks "Exit Saving Changes?", I select Yes and hit Enter
(I have also tabbed across to to Exit and done an Exit Saving Changes)
Turn it fully off, wait a minute, turn it on and hold esc+F10 to go into the BIOS again
Go to System Configuration, Boot Options hit Enter
BIOS display shows Legacy Support as Disabled, Secure Boot as Enabled (which is not what I set)
Product Number:
1HP14PA#ABG
This is all so I can boot from a USB drive.
