Hi @Khalid_Aslam,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Based on what you've described, your HP laptop is showing signs of a deep hardware-level power issue, especially since:

  • The charging light is on, but
  • Nothing happens when you press the power button (no fans, no screen, no sounds),
  • And holding the power button turns off the charging light, which is unusual.

This suggests a possible power circuit faultmotherboard issue, or shorted component. But let’s try every possible fix before concluding it’s a hardware failure:

1. Perform a Deep Power Drain Reset

  1. Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
  2. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
  3. Leave the laptop without battery or charger for 10 minutes.
  4. Plug in the charger only (no battery).
  5. Try turning it on.

If it turns on, the battery may be shorting the system.

2. Try a Different Charger or Power Outlet

  • If the charger is faulty, it might show the light but not deliver enough power.
  • Try a different compatible HP charger if available.
  • Plug directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector.

3. Check for Signs of a Short

  • If holding the power button turns off the charging light, it may indicate a short circuit on the motherboard.
  • This could be caused by:
    • damaged power button
    • faulty charging port
    • burnt capacitor or IC

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
