Hi I have a HP elitebook  but unable to get past password screen as the keyboard isn't recognising letters only numbers

Is it a password or is it a PIN? Asking because the default settings for PINs is numeric only.

It was the password. What I did was to log on to my Microsoft account create a pin (numeric) in oder to log into my laptop which has worked 👍
