Can you change/install a new BIOS to make notebook project screen to external monitor while booting?

Compaq Presario CQ57-229WM
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My notebook has a broken screen. It is nothing major and I have fixed it by projecting the screen to an external monitor in Windows. This has been fine for a while, but now I want to dual-boot another OS and it is hard to find the right partition with the broken screen. This is where my question comes in. I know that on desktop computers BIOS will project the screen to a monitor and I wonder if it is possible to project it to an external monitor before an OS is booted by either changing a setting in BIOS or installing a new BIOS somehow. My BIOS is InsydeH2O Version CCB.03.61.11F.46. Thank you.

@EnderK

Unforutnately the Graphics drivers are needed to project the display to the external screen and in BIOS no drivers are loaded.

In this case you might have to remove the Hard drive and connect it to another computer to create the dual boot
