HP Spectre x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-eu0000 (7K634AV)

Hello,

Why can I not boot into Fedora? On reinstallation of Fedora and updating some HP components, booting option to Linux Fedora disappeared. I can still boot into it by F9/Choose EFI/EFI/Fedora/shimx64.efi.

The problem is, I changed the boot order in Fedora to have what I want, which is to prioritise Fedora/Grub boot instead of Windows'. But on restart, that boot order defaulted again to only Windows, and cleared other boot options.

I also couldn't find any way to add a custom path to the Fedora EFI in the BIOS. Nowhere.

Please help me boot into OS of my choosing.

Hi @breadmanager4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that after reinstalling Fedora and updating some HP components, the Fedora boot option disappeared from the BIOS boot order, although you can still manually launch Fedora through F9 > EFI > EFI > Fedora > shimx64.efi.

However, Linux/Fedora configuration and bootloader management are outside the supported operating system configuration for this HP platform. This includes configuring GRUB, EFI boot entries, or making Fedora the default boot option.

Since Fedora itself is still bootable through the EFI file, I recommend reaching out to the Fedora community/forums for assistance with restoring the Fedora/GRUB boot entry and configuring the desired boot order.

You can also continue using F9 (Boot Device Options) to select the desired operating system when needed.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
