Cannot access ADVANCED BIOS with Omen 15

Hello,

I just bought this 15ax250nf laptop and absolutely need to access the Advanced BIOS as fast as possible.

The only BIOS I can access through F9 at bootup is totally minimalist, and there isn't even an "Advanced" tab at the top.

I've tried:

- the CTRL+F10 then CTRL+F11 thing at startup.

- updating it from the official website which identified my exact model.

- the Windows key + B while pressing on the power button 3 seconds (in an attempt to update the BIOS).

Nothing's worked. I need to get to Advanced BIOS quick. Please help.

Your notebook is one of the few that HP sells which gives access to advanced options in the BIOS.

Thanks for the reply but you mean to tell me there's no way to simply access Advanced BIOS through regular means ?? That's incredible. I just need to tweak a few things on BIOS. That's all. Is there no shortcut or method that can make me get there ?

So what was that HP official website BIOS update then, nothing at all ? I couldn't even access the changes brought from that update. I'm sure there's an entry to get to a new screen.

Is everything greyed out?

You should be able to tweak it at will.

You should see something like the following image.

That's exactly the screen I'd like to get to. The Advanced tab. But I haven't been able to, doing the things I've listed.

Surely there's a simple/nonrisky way to get that on a modern laptop.

The only thing that I can think of that would prevent you from making changes would have been if you set an admin password and forgot it.

Nope. No password issue.

Just, a totally limited set of options at BIOS. No Advanced tab. Argh !!

The strange thing is I definitely installed the update, and still, that same ultra-simple page every time...

I've only got: Main - Security - System Configuration - Exit tabs.

I had the Omen 17" notebook as a product loan in the first year they came to market. I had the capability to make changes.

That sounds good actually.

I just re-installed the BIOS update again, 3.7.0.0. apparently, and the best available version on the website for Omen seems to be that F.46 version Rev 5.0, which is the absolute bare minimum. No maneuvering possible.

I understand that you have an OMEN by HP 15-ax250nf Laptop and would like to access the advanced options in the BIOS. I read that you have updated the BIOS and still there is no advanced option in the BIOS. 

You're correct, the latest BIOS version available for your laptop is F.46 Rev.A.

Based on the information you shared, looks like the advanced BIOS settings are unavailable for access in your laptop. However, you may contact our HP phone support team to check the available service options for your laptop:

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  

1. Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2. 2) Click on “Continue as guest”.
3. 3) Enter the serial of your device.
4. 4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5. 5) Click on “Show Options”.

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
