HP Probook 4520S
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I primarily (and happily) use a gifted and pre-owned HP Probook 4520S laptop which was working perfectly fine (despite its age) till recently.

I upgraded the memory from 4GB to 8GB, as well as the hard drive to a SSD.

On starting the laptop it asked for a password (for the BIOS?).

I don't have any that I remember.

So I removed the new memory and SSD and put the old ones back.

Started the laptop and it is asking for a password again.

i tried my usual passwords but then the laptop froze after two or three saying the system is locked and I need to restart.

Now the laptop is in this loop.

I am financially strained and cannot afford repair/restore/replacement and would appreciate any help and suggestions.

And I am old and I like this machine.

Regards and thanks.

JP

To get help resetting the password on your product, you have to Contact HP support in your region using the following link:

You could also hunt down a local laptop repair shop, but you will have to PAY them to get you access to the laptop.
