I shut down my computer completely yesterday (which I normally do not do). Usually I only put it to sleep.

Upon attempting to boot it up this morning I get nothing but a black screen and a caps lock blinking light (five slow blinks, then three fast blinks).

I’ve tried holding the power button for 15 seconds. I’ve removed the battery and tried to power back up. Tried the Windows + B key upon power up. Nothing has helped so far.

Upon researching the topic on the internet. It appears as if there was a botched BIOS update for many others and I believe I may have ran into the same issue. I thought I read somewhere to download a new BIOS onto a flash drive and use that flash drive while booting up to fix the issue.

Does anyone have any experience in this?
