Hp 550
Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)
I have hp 550 which hard 160 hard drive. Yesterday I changed the hard drive and put in a 500gb notebook hard drive. However when I switch it on it just passes the welcome screen. On the screen there just a small blinking line. Is there anyone with a solution?

come on...

have you install the operation system  on a new HDD?

the opeation system resides on the HDD. since you replaced the hdd,  you have two option:

either copy the old hdd on the new one or just make a clean install on the new hdd.

Hi. Sorry to have taken a long time. I was from home for sometime.

(1) I have a second hand hard drive which my has no instructions
(2) I dont know how to clone hard drives
(3) Is it possible to have both hard drives inserted in the same HP 550?
