Recently, I've encountered a problem with my Gaming Victus i5 13th Gen laptop where the laptop only blinks when the charger is plugged in, but it works fine when the battery is removed.
Additionally, when the battery is connected, it only charges to 1% before stopping. I have tested this with another battery, and the issue persists.
I have already tried using a different charger, but the problem remains unresolved. As such, I believe there may be a hardware issue with either the charging port or the battery itself.

Hi @Amirjamali,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've done some thorough troubleshooting already. If the issue persists even after trying a different charger and battery, it does indeed suggest a hardware problem with either the charging port or the laptop's power management system.
Here are a few additional steps you can take to try and diagnose the issue further.
- Check for Physical Damage: Inspect the charging port on your laptop for any signs of physical damage, such as bent pins or debris obstructing the connection.
- Update Drivers and BIOS: Sometimes, issues with charging can be resolved through software updates. Make sure your laptop's BIOS and all relevant drivers, especially those related to power management, are up to date.
- Reset Power Management Settings: Try resetting the power management settings on your laptop. This can sometimes resolve issues related to charging and battery management.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4/,
Thank you for your response and helpful suggestions.
I have thoroughly checked the charging port for any physical damage, and all the pins appear to be intact without any obstruction. Regarding software updates, I have ensured that my laptop's BIOS and relevant drivers are up to date. However, I would like to bring to your attention that the latest BIOS update available is compatible only with Windows version 22H2, whereas my current Windows version is 23H2. Could this discrepancy be a contributing factor to the charging issue?
Additionally, I have already reset the power management settings on my laptop as per your suggestion, but unfortunately, the issue persists.
Thank you once again for your assistance.
