Having an issue with my laptop HP Notebook - 14-dk0008na. The battery went on it and I have replaced the battery (non-Hp) as the laptop is long out of warranty, I am getting a CMOS checksum error. It seems to happen after the laptop has been powered off at least a couple hours. Then I am unable to start via the power button without plugging the power adapter in even if the battery is fully charged. Get the CMOS checksum at this point and is says to reboot to restore defaults and then the laptop starts up normally and can take the power adapter off. Diagnostics test from UEFI on battery all pass. I believe with this model laptop there is no CMOS battery to change. Not sure if there is a CMOS jumper on the motherboard to try reset, saw that in a another forum, has anyone had any experience with this and can point me in the right direction. Have tried updating the bios to the latest version but problem still persists. Have also tried loading the defaults on Bios but same issue. Thanks

Jumpering the CMOS leads on a desktop will clear the CMOS; they do nothing on a laptop, nor does replacing the CMOS battery -- which is one reason why there is no such jumper.
I would try putting the old battery back in -- as that is the only thing you appear to have changed. If it works OK again, then you will have to buy an HP brand replacement battery.
