The keyboard lights up but nothing else happens. I read that this is a common issue with Chromebooks.

I tried holding power button down (30 secs)

I tried holding power button & restart button down together.

I tried holding "ESC" & Restart button down together

I tried connecting a monitor

NOTHING WORKS!

WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO TRY?

@Chromebookie Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the Chromebook 15 will not turn on.

Ensure the computer is connected to working power.

  1. Plug in the AC adapter to a functioning wall outlet.

  2. Connect the power to the computer.

  3. Check for lights illuminated on the computer or on the AC adapter.

    • No lights are illuminated: Try another HP approved AC adapter.

Please perform the hard reset and check.

A hard or forced reset erases all information in the computer memory. This forces the system to clear and reestablish the software connections between the BIOS and the hardware.

A hard reset does not remove any local files or settings.

  1. Press the power button and refresh button for five seconds. The computer turns off, and then turns on again.

  2. If necessary, press power button again to turn on the laptop.

If the issue still persists, please contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.
