When I close the lid or just walk away from the laptop, it usually sleeps. But occasionally it turns off, or I think actually crashes. I have to restart the computer the next I want to use it. Started happening of course right after the warranty ended, and is becoming more frequent. The laptop has had a very easy life over the last two years, so I wouldn't expect to be having problems like this.

 

Any advice appreciated.

Same issue. It not only crashes randomly (prompting to restore chrome tabs after restarting), but there have been inconsistencies with both Bluetooth and wireless (WiFi) connectivity.

 

May be the last HP laptop I ever purchase as I paid around $1100 for this one (Chromebook).

Mine is now crashing at least once a day. Definitely the last HP product I buy. My last Asus chromebook was going strong after 3 years. I'm sorry I replaced it with this piece of junk. No surprise that HP has discontinued it.
