HP Chromebook - 15-de0518wm
Chrome OS

Chromebook will not charge or boot.  I've done all the recommended troubleshooting tips but to no avail.  Now I am not getting any charge indicating lights whatsoever.  I replaced charging cord, that did not work either.  Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Should I replace the battery? Thanks

Hi@Roskam72,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Chromebook will not charge or boot.

The first thing to check for when your Chromebook won't turn on is a dead battery. Plug the unit in via AC charger and let it charge for at least 30 min to an hour and try turning it on again. A "blank screen" is when the light on the power button is on, but the screen remains black.

I have a few recommendations

  • Use this link to troubleshoot when your HP Chromebook does not have power or is not charging.
  • Turn off your Chromebook.
  • Remove the power adapter.
  • Remove the battery, then put it back in.
  • Reconnect the power adapter.
  • Turn on your Chromebook.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
