Hi @ayre04,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your HP 2-in-1 14 Chromebook not turning on. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue.

  • Check the power source: Ensure that your Chromebook is connected to a power source and charging properly. If you're using the power adapter, make sure it's plugged into a working power outlet and the charging cable is securely connected to both the laptop and the power brick.
  • Check the charging indicator: Look for any LED lights or charging indicators on your Chromebook. When connected to power, there might be a light indicating that it's charging. If you see no lights or a steady light, it could be a sign of a power issue.
  • Perform a hard reset: Sometimes, a hard reset can fix minor glitches. To do this, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds or until the device powers off completely. Then, wait a few seconds and press the power button again to turn it back on.
  • Check for signs of life: While the Chromebook is off, look for any signs of life, such as a flickering screen or sounds coming from the laptop. If you notice any signs of activity, it might be a display-related issue rather than a power problem.
  • Check the battery: It's possible that the battery has drained completely. Leave your Chromebook connected to the charger for at least 30 minutes before trying to turn it on again.
  • Try a different power adapter: If possible, try using a different compatible power adapter to rule out any issues with the original charger.
  • Inspect the power button: Make sure the power button is not physically stuck or damaged. If it appears to be, you may need to get it checked or repaired.
  • Perform a hardware reset: If none of the above steps work, you can try a hardware reset. To do this, turn off your Chromebook, press and hold the Refresh (circular arrow) key and the Power button simultaneously for about 10 seconds, and then release both buttons. Afterward, try turning it on again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
