Hi
I bought a HP Victus 16 in november 2023.
It worked great for a couple of months.
But now, once or twice a day, the laptop boots with a CMOS checksum error (502)
When I press enter to confirm default settings it's not guaranteed it will boot. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. I am pretty sure the battery is the culprit. I tried all the rest:
- Recover BIOS
- Update BIOS
- Update all drivers
- Default settings in BIOS
- Resetting the laptop from scratch
When the laptops gets booted, it works very well.
But this CMOS error is driving me mad.
Sometimes the laptops shuts off doing work or playing games. It is not reliable.
What should I do?
I presume I still have warranty.
Can I just replace the device or get a repair on the battery?
