Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. After a lengthy period of inactivity, the main battery in this laptop is now not charging.  It has apparently "self-developed" its own Admin password and announces that "CMOS checksum is invalid, Default setting applied, Reboot and check if your settings have changed". I suspect this means cmos battery is low or flat. I do not recall ever setting a bios password on this device because there is nothing sensitive on it. Last entry to bios was about March this year. Nevertheless, I tried all of the bios passwords (5 to 15 characters) that I use exclusively for pc bioses. It is very highly unlikely that anyone was able to access the laptop since it was stored in an off-limits office since its last splurge of usage in March. Any suggestions on how to remediate would be very appreciated.
