Hello! I’m working on troubleshooting my laptop. The notebook will not boot up with battery installed and AC plugged in(not just screen but everything). I removed the internal battery and can turn on with AC in. I ordered new battery and still have the same issues. I am also getting thIs message when I boot up. What troubleshooting steps should I take next?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.

2. Expand batteries.

3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.

4. Shut down the computer.

5. Disconnect the charger.

6. Remove the battery.

7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.

8. Insert the battery only.

9. Attempt to turn the battery on.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I am having this EXACT same issue.

HP 15-ac190ca laptop. If the battery is installed, trying to turn it on with battery alone or battery/ac charger.....the laptop won't turn on at all.

If I remove the battery and ONLY plug in the AC charger, it boots 100% fine...

@Echo - trying what you suggested does not help.
