Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Laptop that is only 6 months old and it continually restarts itself. It happens random times of the day, right in the middle of my work. I've adjusted the sleep settings, made sure all drivers and BIOS are up to date, windows is up to date, etc.

I have tried to contact HP to get service and/or replacement for this laptop and opened a case to have the warranty updated with my proof of purchase, but HP just closed the case with no explanation, and the warranty is still listed as expired.

I have two of the same laptops (the other one was purchased only about 3 months ago) from the same Amazon vendor and both are showing out of warranty and have the same "constantly restarting" issue.

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing warranty issues with the HP Notebook and it continually restarts itself. As I see you have tried running all updates on the PC and still persists.

I have a few recommendations

  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows.
  • Run the system test from HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

Try and check in Bios using the F10 key if the PC restart in Bios. To enter Bios, click restart and keep tapping the F10 key and then turn on the PC at the same time to enter the Bios screen.

If the issue persists in Bios then it is a hardware issue on the screen.

As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out. HP provides repair or service options for out of warranty products as well. Hence I encourage you to contact HP support for all warranty service options.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.

Follow the instructions below to reach them:

1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.

6) Fill the web form and proceed further.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty.
