HP Notebook - 15-ay041wm (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 11

My CMOS battery died. I replaced it and received a message about corrupt CMOS. Pressed enter to reboot and now I'm stuck at the "Enter Administrator Password or Power On Password" prompt. I never set any BIOS passwords on this computer.

I need a method to fix my BIOS. I only have one problem flashing BIOS via USB startup. I cannot find the BIOS recovery/update files anywhere... I know my laptop is 8 whole years old, but it was working fine three days ago. I need it to keep working. I have WORK stuff on it!!!

If I hit enter 3 times on the password prompt, I receive the following "Stop Code":

System Disabled

[i 60017984]

Someone at HP should be able to tell me which code to enter based on that, correct???

Thanks, but that doesn't work for me. My computer is out of warrantee, so I don't have the option to talk to an actual person. I can "Find an Expert", i.e. pay Louis Rossman or some other outrageously expensive repair shop. I can use "HP Support Community", this site. I can use the "HP Service Center Locator", same as the expert, but probably even more expensive. Or, I can "Shop Accessories", **bleep**? (Can I get a replacement fan for the faulty POS in the computer that sounds like a ramjet which threw a bearing? Nope.)

This should be easy. If you guys hadn't blocked that dude who provided proper unlock codes of his own volition... He was doing your job for you and you f--ked that up! Probably made him rich on the dark web, good move...

I knew it was a mistake to buy HP ☹️

I'm a programmer with board-repair skills. I can pull the eeprom and reprogram it myself...just need a board layout so I know which chip it is. Or, you can just use your resources as an HP employee to tell me my unlock code.

I am not subverting your supposed security. I've had the computer for years...from WalMart about 9 years ago. Want to see the receipt? I can get the credit card statement... Doesn't statute of limitations apply? How long has my computer been out of service? Do you seriously just want me to throw it away? That's f**king stupid!

I have years worth of source code and other stuff which is encrypted using the computer's TDB. I cannot access it and I need it!

Please, just tell me my code or give me a phone number to call. Your advice to use the site is worthless.
