"Battery Safe" mode is likely a result of having applied a BIOS update that initiates the condition for those notebooks affected by the battery recall.

- Provides Battery Safety Mode for systems subject to a Battery Safety Recall.

The system should start using the AC Adapter power source.

 

1.  If the notebook boots using AC Power, you may check for the Recall.

Information and instructions:  HP Replacement programs and product recalls

 

 

2.  If the computer will not boot,

If you have recently applied a BIOS Update that includes Battery Safe Mode,

then

Contact HP Technical Support.

Open a Case with HP.

Explain that the computer has had the BIOS updated, that the battery may be on the recall list, and that the computer will not boot.

 

Reminders

  • Use the serial number of the device to submit the case (do not post that information here).
  • In those areas where Chat is an option, Chat service hours are likely restricted.
  • Chat is not available in every region.

 

In the event that Chat is not available in your region:  Call the number provided in the HP directory, else submit your case online (to receive phone contact information)
