OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-b0000 (472J1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have tested this with 3 laptops of same specs and found this problem to be common in all of them. The problem sounds strange but in hp omen 16 laptops there exists a condition where connecting the AC adapter will decrease the GPU performance of the laptop. I have checked this in 3 laptops with 3 different AC adapters and had same problem. Was this a coincidence or every HP Omen 16 have this problem?

You can test this using following steps:

 1. You turned on you laptop with your AC plugged in it will work very fine. (OK)

2. Your AC adapter is then unplugged either you unplug it or there is electricity cut off. Then your laptop will run on battery and will perform less than case 1.(OK)

3.you replug your laptop with AC adapter but here the performance you get is even less that case 2 which should have been equal to case 1. From here you will encounter a condition where you will have reduced GPU performance whenever you connect the charger. (NOT OK).

This problem again is gone when you restart the laptop and will again come when your charger gets disconnected even for a fraction of second.

For reference. The geekbench gpu score for 3 cases for a rtx 3060 would look like this:

Case 1: 90000

Case 2: 60000

Case 3: 30000

On performing the startup test on all there laptops next common thing was also found. When checked for AC adapter it shows system is running on low power mode. And while testing for battery it also gives warning. And we have performed this test by changing the charger and battery as well.

I think this has to do something with the BIOS . Anyone with the same problem or solution please reply.
