HP Laptop PC 17-by4000 (18B36AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP laptop will not recognize the ssd.  I have gone thru all available diagnostics with 2 calls to Tech Support.  I have attempted to update BIOS as instructed.  Each time says the file is not compatible.  I have looked in CMD for my C drive.  Not listed.  What is probably the most frustrating is that both Tech Support personnel have tried to sell me an extended warranty!  They refuse to allow me to send this laptop to a service center.

Very apparent that it is either:

1. A failed hard drive

or,

2. A failed PCIe controller

I have the start up files and a system image on flash drives.

Somebody please help without trying to extract more money out of me!
