Hello guys, I'm new here.
I was programming with my laptop, it ran out of battery and when I connected it to the power supply it never turned on, the power button LED just blinks, I already tried holding it down for 15 seconds and using the Windows + B keys, but nothing works. I left it connected to the power supply for 1 hour and it still won't turn on.

Hi @Joshua888,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue you're experiencing with your Victus by HP 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa1000 (8B486AV) could be due to several factors, such as a drained battery, a hardware issue, or a power supply problem. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Remove any external devices connected to the laptop (e.g., USB drives, external hard drives).
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter and attempt to power on the laptop.
2. Check the Power Adapter and Charging Port
- Ensure the power adapter is connected securely and that the power outlet is functional.
- Look for any damage to the adapter cable or the charging port on the laptop.
- If available, test the adapter on another HP laptop to verify it works.
3. Inspect the LED Blink Pattern
The blinking power LED may indicate a specific error. Count the blinks and note if there is a pattern (e.g., 3 blinks followed by a pause). This pattern corresponds to an HP diagnostic code.
- Continuous Blinking: Indicates the battery is deeply discharged. Leave the laptop connected to the charger for several hours and retry powering it on.
- Specific Blink Pattern: Consult the HP diagnostic blink code guide to determine the issue.
4. Reset the Battery
If your laptop has a removable battery:
- Disconnect the battery.
- Connect the power adapter (without the battery) and try turning on the laptop. If it powers on, the issue may be with the battery.
For laptops with non-removable batteries:
- Locate the "pin reset" hole (if available) on the bottom of the laptop. Use a paperclip to press the reset button for a few seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and retry.
5. Attempt a BIOS Recovery
- Turn off the laptop and ensure it is plugged into a power source.
- Hold the Windows + B keys and press the power button for a few seconds, then release the power button but continue holding the keys.
- Wait for the laptop to attempt BIOS recovery. If successful, follow the on-screen instructions.
