Unable to boot laptop as it has no boot device need help sorting it out please

That message usually indicates the hard drive has failed.  Check in the BIOS whether the hard drive is shown..  If "Yes" then run the diagnostics for the hard drive.

I've tried putting in a hard drive that has windows on it but still says the same thing

Have you done this?

Check in the BIOS to see whether the hard drive is shown.. If "Yes" then run the diagnostics for the hard drive.

 

BTW: using a drive with Windows installed from a different computer may not help.

i have tried doing a hard drive test but it says that the smart check ist installed and same for the other check to
