HP Recommended

Second hand laptop: HP EliteBook 8570p.

 

Worked fine for the first hour or so, suddenly went off and doesn't turn on again. Only feedback is third LED (flash symbol) blinking 8-9 times (9th blink is cut short) - in orange/amber when PSU is unplugged, in white when plugged in.

 

Tried removing battery, HDD, RAM, even tried a different (Dell?!?) PSU. No change whatsoever, same behaviour. No noise, no beeps, no other LEDs than the flash symbol in front.

 

Also tried hard reset recommendation (keep power putton pressed for half a minute with battery and charger removed). Still no luck. I'm out of ideas.

 

I've really fallen in love with that little machine, it's gorgeous and I'm heartbroken. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
