ELITEBOOK 2570P
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello friends, please i'm new here. I have been using this HP laptop for long (EliteBook 2570p) and just few days ago, it pop up a bios update. I tried to follow the instructions to update the bios, but unfortunately I got stocked in bios password incorrect, update not completed. I have been battling with how to reset the password since then, I talked to hp support they said I have to replace motherboard but that could cost a lot of money as i'm just a student. I have gone to where they removed the cmos battery and insert it back but no success. Please any attempt to help or suggestion is highly welcome. Thanks in advance

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

Most HP business notebooks including the one you have, do not generate system disabled codes.

Also, removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.

HP issued this document recently...

The forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.

Rule 4.d...

d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.
