I've stumble upon serious problem with BIOS access since I was asked for BIOS password while booting setup utility.
Since there was no BIOS password (I did not set it up upon initial configuration, nor while last time it was accessed by me) this is kinda strange behaviour.
I have absolutely no idea what could happen.
- Notebook is being used only by me.
- There is no way for anyone to access it and setup password because it is being used in closed environment.
- There are several protection tools on that machine (biult in HP software, antivirus software, local account without admin rights)
My observation is:
- There is no way to restore password with Spare Key (this option has been turned off some time ago by HP)
- BCU + SSM option is not available, since HP eliminated it too.
Can someone point me in the right direction with this?
What can I do to restore/delete/recover password? Is there any HP authorised procedure for this kind of issues?
