Hi,

At the password screen, hit enter 3 times.

If you receive an 8 digit 'halt code', post back with this code.

If you don't receive a halt code, you will need to Contact HP Business support - they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

You can contact HP Business Support in your country via

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

or

https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

Just to note, if you do need to go the HP route, don't try removing the rtc battery.  It won't remove the password, but it will reset the clock - as smc files are time coded, a large disparity between the system clock and the time encoded in the smc will cause it to fail.

Hi,

It isn't showing any error code, just says - system locked, press power button to reboot.

And regarding CMOS battery, unfortunately i have already removed it & tried to reset out of this knowledge.

Thank You!

Hi,

You're welcome :generic:

The best thing would be to explain the rtc removal to HP Business Support when you contact them for the smc.
