Hi @Ryan263,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To enable hardware virtualization on your HP Pavilion 15-N207tu Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR), you usually need to access the BIOS setup utility. Since your F10 key is not working and F10 is typically used to enter the BIOS on HP laptops, you can try alternative methods to access the BIOS:
Method 1: Use the ESC Key
Restart Your Computer:
- Shut down your computer completely.
- Turn it back on.
Press the ESC Key:
- Immediately start pressing the ESC key repeatedly (usually about once per second) as soon as you turn on the computer.
- This should bring up the Startup Menu.
Select BIOS Setup:
- From the Startup Menu, you should see an option to enter the BIOS Setup (typically listed as F10).
- Even if your F10 key isn't working, the ESC key method often allows access.
Method 2: Use Windows Advanced Startup
Open Settings:
- Click on the Start menu and select Settings (the gear icon).
Navigate to Recovery:
- Go to Update & Security > Recovery.
Restart into Advanced Startup:
- Under Advanced startup, click Restart now.
- Your computer will restart and boot to a blue menu with several options.
Enter UEFI Firmware Settings:
- Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings.
- Click Restart to enter the BIOS.
Method 3: Use the HP Support Assistant
Open HP Support Assistant:
- Search for HP Support Assistant in the Start menu and open it.
Access UEFI Settings:
- Go to the My devices tab.
- Select your HP Pavilion 15-N207tu.
- Look for an option to access UEFI/BIOS settings.
Check the next set of steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Ryan263,
Please find the next set of steps below.
Enabling Hardware Virtualization in BIOS
Once you are in the BIOS Setup Utility, follow these steps to enable hardware virtualization:
Navigate to the System Configuration Tab:
- Use the arrow keys to navigate to the System Configuration tab.
Enable Virtualization Technology:
- Look for an option called Virtualization Technology (VT-x or AMD-V).
- Change the setting to Enabled.
Save and Exit:
- Press F10 (or follow the on-screen instructions for your specific BIOS) to save the changes and exit the BIOS.
Reboot:
- Your computer will restart with hardware virtualization enabled.
If none of the above methods work due to the F10 key issue, you might consider using an external USB keyboard to access the BIOS.
If you encounter any issues or if the BIOS setup menu does not have the option to enable virtualization, I recommend you contact phone support for more information.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
