Enabling Legacy Support / Disabling Secured Boot

Hello there,

I just recently flashed Tails (An operating system) onto my USB Drive, on which I was able to boot my Computer on, pulling the stick out again after shutting down, and continuing to use my PC on Windows as of before as if nothing happened.

Now I want to do the same for my HP Laptop, but the problem is that the USB doesn't show up when I open the boot system. People told me to either disable Secure Boot or enable Legacy Support in my BIOS. Since I don't have any experience with this, I had a few questions about it:

If I disable Secure Boot, does this have any other effects on my Windows Operating System, that I use right now, such as not being able to go back to using Windows like nothing happened after I'd shut down Tails? Same question for enabling Legacy Support, since when I tried to enable it, it gave me the warning that I might not be able to boot Windows again afterward.

 TAILS is a Linux distro and I'm sorry, but we here are not equipped to provide detailed Linux support.

HP only warranties their PCs for usage with the OS that comes preinstalled. IF you replace that with Linux, or add a Linux OS, then you assume full responsibility for maintaining that -- as HP provides Linux assistance only on Redhat and then only to commercial customers.

The primary "challenge" to using Linux on any HP PC is the availability of Linux drivers. Any hardware that does not work will then range from simple (if there are Linux drivers available) to impossible (if there are NO Linux drivers available) to fix.

Since HP does not provide Linux drivers, your best bet for Linux support is to contact the support forum for the Linux distro you are using.

Folks on Linux support forums have experience using a variety of machines with Linux and know a lot about driver and installation issues. You will be able to get sound and detailed help there.

Well, can you ignore the part of the question that has to do with Linux and just pretend that it's a older version of windows I want to boot?
