Hello Ub6424,

When I went to download the UEFI one, I got a message to say: a later version of HP PC hw diags uefi is already installed on this machine.  The setup cannot continue.

I ran the Windows one, everything passed.

I am thinking I should just return the laptop as it is within warranty and I can't keep running tests on it which come back PASSED but it keeps crashing on me.  It crashed again for a third time already today, whea uncorrectable error.

Thanks for all your help but I just think there it has some mystery ailment.  I just hope the return is accepted.

Hi Ub6424,

Sorry it has taken a few days to reply, it took a while to get organised to do the cloud recovery and I've given it a few days since to see how things have gone since.

It is definitely performing better.  It still crashes sometimes, often out of nowhere.  But it's much quicker to restart and usually does so by itself.  I will keep monitoring it.  I used to use mac before this laptop and am thinking maybe Windows pcs just crash sometimes and people just live with it?

One bad thing that happened was, I had been using dropbox to save all my work, and so there was nothing to save from the hard drive when I went through the recovery process.  But then when I downloaded dropbox again, all of the files I had made since May were gone, not deleted, just non-existent.  There seems to be nothing I can do about it either, all those files are gone for good.  Ah well, it will serve me right for not backing up.  I am going to start using an external hard drive now.

Thanks for all your help.
