Good morning,
I have an HP ENVY Laptop 13-BA1xxx (with integrated battery) for more than two years and from an early stage I started having problems with the PC automatically "restarting" whenever it is running on battery power (fully or partially charged). Twice, and under warranty, the PC was sent to HP services, where on both times a "BIOS update" was performed, something that never completely resolved this problem.
Problem steps: I turn on the equipment and after working for around 10-15 minutes, it turns off and restarts again, having to start the tasks I had in progress again. This problem occurs recurrently and in a loop as long as you are only working on battery. The situation happens without the PC overheating or even with the fan running.
Note: this problem occurred previously with W10 and now with W11 (without distinction in how it occurs).
According to HP Assistant and the Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Customer Support there are no updates to install. I've tried everything I found in the community, among which I highlight:
- Reinstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery in device manager;
- Perform system diagnostics, without any error being found;
- Change settings in advanced settings so that the device does not restart automatically...
- install once again Nvidia drivers…
And the problem persists.
However, and through a more detailed analysis of the computer's error logs, whenever this happens I get an error event id = 41, originating from Kernel-Power: "The system was restarted without first shutting down correctly. This error can occurred because the system stopped responding, experienced a failure, or lost power unexpectedly."
We are talking about "premium" equipment that I regret purchasing.
Since it is no longer under warranty, what solutions can I have?
Can it be a problem with the battery connections that suddenly makes the system out of energy (however it seems charges and works properly)?
thanks in advance for your support
