Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

My 78 year old mother-in-law's laptop showed this error with Boot Device Not Found. I've tried all the troubleshooting with no luck.

This laptop has eMMC storage which, from what I've read, is soldered to the motherboard. Laptop is 8 months out of warranty (20 months old) and even though its not the most expensive product out there, I would expect it to last more than 20 months before suffering what appears to be a terminal failure.

Anyone from HP able to comment and offer a solution?

HP Recommended

Two weeks and not a single response from HP. $400 for a disposable notebook that lasts 20 months. $20/month. Never again will I buy an HP product.
