Zbook 17 G3
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

We have a problem with several users, the problem is that when powering on the workstation the external keyboard does not work when a Bitlocker pin is needed. The user needs to open his lid to provide his pin. keyboard does work within the BIOS or OS.

What we have done

Upgraded to the newest BIOS
Disabled Fastboot/ enabled

Changed it to factory defaults

Anyway nothing seems to work, problem occurs to Zbook 17 G3 workstations, including Thunderbolt dockings

No, external keyboards can't be used to enter bitlocker key (or PIN). External keyboards can only work when machines start to load BIOS and bitlocker PIN is required  BEFORE the loading step.

Regards.

Thats nonsense, we have over  a 1000 clients who use HP as a vendor in combination with bitlocker, every laptop user has a docking station with a external keyboard attached. It works for every user except for this specific model.

I don't know but I've got around 10,000 (ten thousand) people and all of us have to do the same thing. Aroung 95% or more os us use port replicators and we have to

(a) Open laptop,

(b) Power on machines,

(c) Enter bitlocker PIN using laptop keyboards,

(d) When Windows logo up, close the lids

Now we can use external keyboard to enter password.

Prpbably we can't enter BIOS, Device Manager .... even can't access to C: drive. In your case, please try to modify BIOS to allow you to access to external keyboard before loading Windows
