Hello beautiful people. I'm tech challenged learning . Edition Windows 10 Home
Version 21H1
Installed on ‎4/‎3/‎2021
OS build 19043.1415
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0

since the last update about 2 weeks ago suddenly Firefox takes nearly one minute to materialize, used to be just seconds & my HP wireless mouse occasionally freezing up. I have McAfee Live Safe full version& McAfee browser guard. I scan weekly & always have good report no issues. I also use weekly HP Support Assistant and run all the following tasks 1) fix your network 2) optimize your performance 3) check your operating system 4) run hardware diagnostics 5) software & drivers . Everything is up to date and HP also gives me a clean bill of health no issues not even one. So both McAfee & HP tell me everything is great. My batteries are fresh in my mouse and the slow booting only in Firefox is driving me nuts. I checked Microsoft forums and googled about it . It was suggested to try free "Restoro" scan & repair if necessary. I did and suddenly I'm over $200 paid to Restoro who is telling me I have no virus just like HP & McAfee I also run Proton VPN and Restoro said I need to go to a paid repair tech they suggested "Best Buy" but they offered let me pay one of their tech to do it remote online and it only cost me almost$250 and several hours of down time while their tech played abra cadabra and hocus pocus on this brand new only 6 month old laptop and I still have the same problem and didn't even get a kiss? They made an 8 pm appointment to cast some more spells again tonight and I patiently waited and finally at 8:45pm got an email cancellation and reset for Saturday the 18th. Sorry this is so long but I'm really needing an honest person to direct me to honest help.m The Restoro tech said this problem started in April 2021? I say Bull Fertilizer ! That's when I got it delivered from HP factory in (oh no) China and this just started so if it had been since I got it new  I would have had this then. I demanded my money back & put a stop payment only because they assured me they would have this resolved and running like new again last night and failed then w/o consulting me rescheduled . They wasted several hours of my time and I'm not able to be available today , so now three days in a row I can't hardly get any work done online. Listen I've had cancer 3 times and 2 surgeries in the last 6 years. I'm a young 58 years old bankrupt (thanks cancer)& no one will hire me. I don't get govt. ass. of any kind and take every little job that comes my way.I'm including a screenshot of what Restoro said was wrong. What I don't understand is how Restoro says all these things are wrong but neither HP Support Assistant or McAfee Live Safe caught any of those 18,253 supposed problems> Thank you to everyone and anyone that may be able to help me sole my slow booting and freezing up issues.Have a wonderful day. Sincerely KyleScreenshot (2622).png

Hi@kylejennings,

Thanks for engaging in the HP support community!

I understand you have freezing issues with your PC.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any hardware or software changes on your PC?

Try updating the BIOS and chipset driver on your PC and check if it helps.

1.Updating the BIOS  & Windows updated

You can try updating the drivers using HP support assistant.

Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps try the steps recommended below.

Use the steps in this section to help find the cause of the lockup:

Disconnect all devices to the PC with the exception of keyboard and mouse and/or monitor required for minimal use.

Remove any discs from the CD/DVD drives.

If Windows becomes active again, clean, repair, or replace the disc. Troubleshooting is complete.

If the lockup persists, continue troubleshooting using these steps.

While holding down the Alt key on the keyboard, press the F4 key to close the application.

If Windows becomes active again, the problem is related to an application. Save your work and restart the computer. Remember the name of the application that stopped responding or caused the error. Update or remove applications that continue to lock up. Troubleshooting is complete.

If the lockup persists, continue troubleshooting using these steps.

Press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys to open Task Manager.

Review the list of applications under Processes and look for applications that have stopped responding. Make a note of the names of those applications or programs.

Select an application that is not responding, and then click End Task.

A Microsoft Windows error message might appear: Windows Explorer has stopped working. Windows may check to see if there is a solution for the problem or prompt you to close the program. Or, if you see If you can’t see the taskbar and desktop icons, press Windows key and type Explorer….”

If you can’t see the taskbar and desktop icons, press the Windows key and type Explorer in the field and click OK to restart File Explorer.

Continue clicking End Task for applications that are not responding until all unresponsive applications are removed from the list.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot lock up or freezing issues with PC.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I"m sorry I never got an email notifying me of the response. However I had not changed or installed anything in settings or apps no changes from me at all , I just 2 days ago googled why is Firefox freezing and slow booting and made the changes they advised and It solved the problem for that day but came right back. Yesterday I discovered a error while doing the mouse drag and drop test it gave me Failure ID:RU7808-AHXB02-X0 7V41-G1SP03. Next I did the wired network check and  got the following message "UEFI networking doesn't appear to be supported or enabled. Check BIOS settings to make sure UEFI network operation ROMS are enabled and UEFI boot is enabled. So I am going to try to do those things now . I am learning but if you would just let me borrow your brain for one day I feel sure I could fix this and not hurt your brain. LOL at least I'm honest thank you so very much  for all your help and the detailed steps to try to resolve my issues . After doing the UEFI stuff I will run your process  if my  problem remains unchanged and will post the results . Thank you again

Hi@kylejennings,

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. The Failure ID on from the mouse drag and drop test determines a hardware issue on the HP Wireless Mouse.

As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers who should be able to provide service/replacement options for the HP Mouse within the warranty.

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance.
