When starting the notebook it goes straight to the bios. And then flashing "exit discarding Changes Yes/No".
Because F10 is used to enter and exit the bios, I think the key is stuck. I cant see anything wrong with that key or any other key on the keyboard. I have the notebook just for a few weeks. Any solutions? Or workarounds?

Hi @MBL-NL,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips, Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
I understand you are having an issue with the PC booting directly into the Bios. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you to resolve this issue,
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you made any software or hardware changes on the PC?
When was the last time it worked (date)?
Was there any update/reset interrupted recently?
Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting this on HP Forums?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
A computer can Boot into Bios if any of 100 or so Bios Settings are OUT of boot parameter.
Examples:
CPU Clock, Memory Timings, Voltage Settings, Devices, Etc,
Also, If the CMOS Battery is weak and not holding the presets After Bios Setup, the machine will boot
to the Bios on every Cold Boot.
So I would suggest you go ahead and try replacing the CMOS battery and check if that helps.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you.
If you wish to help others looking for the same solution as you've found, mark the post as Accepted Solution.

And I Hope you have a good day, Ahead.

Thanks, the notebook is only a few weeks old. I dindt do any updates or upgrades to it. On march 9 it was working normal. The next day I only get the bios at start up with that flashing Exit question.
I cant enter the operating system, because I only can exit bios withous saving changes. I have to press the Enter-key very fast multiple times, to exit bios.
I understand why a computer jumps to the Bios. But I cant change anything in the Bios, because of that flashing window, asking me to exit. Thats why I think its the F10 key, causing the problem.
I can try to change the CMOS battery (I doubt HP puts an old battery into a brandnew notebook) , but I dont know how. And what about warranty-issues?

Hi @MBL-NL,
Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
As I understand you are having this issue on your new notebook. don't worry as I have a few other suggestions which should help you to resolve this issue,
Let's try to connect an external keyboard and check if it works, for more please follow the steps from this link.
Alternatively, you can use a paper clip and try to lift the F10 key and check if this helps.
Since the product is brand new, it would be under the warranty, I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for further assistance. Please fill in the product details to get the tech support number.
Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
