F11... System Recovery on HP screen and nothing else

I upgraded my Windows 7 HP Pavilion dv6 laptop to Windows 10 about 3 yrs ago when it was free so I don't have disks to reinstall Windows 10.  I've tried all the various methods trying to get to safe mode and this is what happens: as it's starting, if I press F11 it will go to "F11... System Recovery" on the initial HP screen and NOTHING ELSE!!! no matter how long I wait.

So it is just f 11 recovery system boot and al fal in to place and you have a new pc

You do not need disks to reinstall Windows 10. You can download from Microsoft and it will automatically activate once installed and connected to the internet.

Here is a small guide

Download media creation tool from Microsoft on PC (different PC), run and create a bootable pendrive with the OS on it. (there is an explanation on the Microsoft web page on how to create the pendrive). Windows will automatically activate once installed and connected to the Internet.

If you choose this option you will need to use the pendrive to perform a clean install of Windows 10. You might need to disable fastboot and secure boot in BIOS (probably not). So, insert the pendrive in the PC and it should boot directly from the drive. If not, turn off the PC by holding the power button. Press the power button and immediately keep pressing ESC until the startup menu appears and then press F9 and choose the pendrive in the boot menu. Once it boots from pendrive follow the procedure to install Windows. Choose Custom install and delete all partitions. Install on unallocated space.

When finished installing allow Windows to completely update and find all or most drivers. You can follow this process by going into settings > Security and update > click on Verify for updates. You might need to reboot a couple of times.

naturally, there also could be a problem with the hard drive if you are not able to install
